Frankfurt in May <3
Most travel days start by packing chaos into my routine for maximum crash when I finally arrive to the destination. I had an extra large cold-brew and went to a new exercise class, took a shower in the middle of the day. My adrenaline was so high I could have flown the plane myself.
I packed my samsonite and tote bag so I could give my shoulders (David's shoulders) a break from the lavender XXL LL bean bag.

The Helsinki Airport lives in a tier of airport alongside the Indianapolis International Airport: full of natural light, unbothered people, overstaffed and under-traveled. Evian purchased, bag of skittles in hand, new Kacey Musgraves album downloaded. Ready for takeoff.
The assignment: Frankfurt International School 10-year reunion. The brief: Bratwurst, Besties, Brunch.
Our apartment in Oberursel was a 7-storey building nestled in a canopy of trees, with a wrap-around porch and bumping sound system. We sat out on the balcony looking at the daisy-covered lawn below, watching spandex-wrapped German men cycling to work.

At night David's friends picked us up in the rented BMW wagon and blasted techno on our way to the school. We had little glasses of champagne and the crowd spilled out of the auditorium into the student lounge, next to the espresso machine, the courtyard, little pockets of catching up and silly stories. Then brauhaus. Then bleary-eyed to bed.
Saturday we recovered in Bad Homburg at Chiara's house with recovery juice, a big bowl of scrambled eggs and a sun soaked patio. At the flea market I got a bratwurst and a sprite, and the girls got matching blue egg cups.

David and I took a catnap. Then we took the train from Oberursel to Frankfurt. We drank the bottle of sparkling he was gifted as the man-of-honor for Marie’s bridal party. We drank it next to the river and laid in the sun until our bodies melted into the grass.

The night ended with beaucoup rustic jugs of apfelwein and like 45 plates of schnitzel... I fell in love with the white tee and skinny Missoni scarf worn by the queen bee, she also had a little eggshell blue Celine crossbody, I would add stickers like this:

More scrambled eggs for breakfast, and einen großen cappuccino. We left Frankfurt's green gardens in a soft little rainstorm back to Helsinki.
