Lunch date #2
Some lunch dates are opulent and you have to use hairspray, shine your shoes, lint roll the jacket. This is a different kind of lunch date.

Today we’re having black coffee and salmon soup on a plastic tray. I’ll sit across you, spread butter 5mm thick on my focaccia, and explain everything.

I found an amazing jewel-box online shop and blog by German merchant Tina Pahl. It’s so low-tech. It feels like you’re walking across creaky wood floors in her Munich pop-up, throwing gorgeous Moroccan caftans and Miu Miu jackets over your shoulders trying to get to the bottom of the dress up box. luxurydejavu.com

On sunny Saturday mornings we play bocce ball in the park down the street. The blooms exploding from the beds inspire me to wear something earthy. Blue jeans, white tops, and black loafers. Then, like a handful of bulbs sown last fall: some spice.

When it reaches real summer, I’m considering a kleenex-thin Arket black maxi dress I can cinch with my Missoni scarf. With pink bandana atop my bixie, channeling a pirate aboard the Limited Too.

During a recent trip to the stores, I wistfully pulled at the hem of this baseball tee in Arket. I’ve had this picture of Emily Oberg on my moodboard for ages. Unfortunately, the red of the Arket model is too oxygenated.

One thought I had this weekend: every blonde girl needs a vintage Gucci web bag. The beige, red and green, with a head of yellow blonde hair, all swishing and swaying in the airport, Starbucks, train. It makes me think of the essence of Gwyneth Paltrow, sunny, decadent, unmistakable.

The honorable mentions of a Saturday shopping date include this gingham Muji blouse. I’d wear it to become drenched in a flash summer rainstorm and seek shelter under the lilac bushes.

And satin mules from Mango. For walking across a carrera marble foyer and crushing a blueberry under your heel, leaving a streak of indigo in your wake.
À samedi !
